The Google Gemilang initiative is aimed at women / person living in rural areas (non urban) / low-income communities

The courses will be presented through online self-paced training. You will be provided with a series of videos to watch and there will be short quizzes to test your knowledge after.

Any mobile device (ie. smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktop) with stable internet connection.

The recommended pace for each certification is approximately 6 months, with a suggested pace of 10 hours/week. Please note that you will need to complete all certification courses within that timeframe, or you will risk losing access to the portal and not attaining your certification.

You will lose access to you Coursera portal and will not be able to finish your certification courses. Or you will need to pay the monthly Coursera access fee of RM100 per month, to finish it.

Yes, you can. However, the courses will take 6 months to complete with a suggested pace of 10 hours/week. If you are able to commit to more hours, then we welcome you to apply for other certifications as well.

At the end of the program, there will be a chance to connect with prospective employers and secure employment opportunities, through the Google Gemilang Consortium.

None! Whether you’re completely new to the field or have had some exposure, a Google Career Certificate is the right learning path for you.

Google Career Certificates are completely online, so there is no need to show up to a classroom in person. You can access your instructional videos, readings, and assignments anytime and anywhere via web or your mobile device.

The Digital Marketing & E-commerce, IT Support, IT Automation, User Experience Design, Project Management and Data Analytics Certificates cost RM100 per month by subscription on Coursera. Google does not generate any revenue from Google Career Certificates and will offer scholarships via partners.

Yes! Google Career Certificates are recognised by over 20 employers in Malaysia, including companies like Maybank and Omnicom Media Group. Certificates help graduates stand out to recruiters and interviewers. In the US, 75 percent of program graduates reported an improvement in their careers within six months of their certificate completion.

Google has also funded 31,000 scholarships for Google Career Certificates, which will be distributed by Grow with Google partners such as Girls in Tech, Women in Tech, Trainocate, and more.

Coursera is a global online learning platform that offers access to online courses. Google has worked with Coursera to make Google Career Certificates available on their platform.

The Gemilang Employer Consortium consists of top companies in Malaysia that are committed to considering Gemilang graduates for entry-level positions/jobs.
