Continuous availability and rock-solid performance.

Industry-leading, NetApp AFF systems allow you to build a simplified and dedicated SAN that provides continuous access to mission-critical databases during both planned and unplanned events. NetApp’s storage efficiency, encryption, data protection, and ultra-fast response times means accelerating your Oracle, SAP, and Microsoft applications. Take advantage of unparalleled cloud connectivity for backup data protection, analytics, and automatic cold data storage.

Gain expertise on clustered storage system node configuration and how to configure switches and host systems on ONTAP SAN environment. The learning is reinforced through hands-on guided labs.

Overview

In this NetApp training course, you will learn the installation process for ONTAP 9 Data Management Software for a SAN environment.

The course provides information about block-level protocols, including FC, FCoE, NVMe, and iSCSI, on Microsoft Windows Server, Linux and VMware ESXi host operating systems.

The learning will be reinforced through hands-on guided labs. The course materials include a lab workbook that will serve as an on-the-job reference guide.

Skills Covered

  • Define and Describe SANs using iSCSI, FC, FCoE and NVMe protocols
  • Discuss FC switch fabric, LUN masking and zoning
  • Create and configure Storage Virtual Machines to use FC and iSCSI protocols

Exam & Certification

NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer—SAN (NS0-515)

Training & Certification Guide

You have proven skills planning, implementing, integrating, and troubleshooting ONTAP SAN, FC switched fabrics and Ethernet iSCSI/FCoE solutions, and different operating systems (Windows, LINUX, ESX, UNIX) and applications.

NCIE—SAN Specialist, ONTAP logos and certificates will be granted to those individuals who successfully obtain NetApp Certified Data Administrator, ONTAP (NCDA ONTAP) certification, then pass the NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer—SAN (NS0-520) exam.

We recommend that NetApp Certified Implementation Engineer–SAN, ONTAP candidates have six to 12 months of experience in planning, implementing, and validating end-to-end SAN solutions for customers in FC and iSCSI environments. Experience in SAN implementation within virtualized environments and within clustered environments is highly recommended.

NCIE-SAN Specialist, ONTAP candidates must first achieve the NetApp Certified Data Administrator (NCDA) certification.

The NS0-520 exam includes 60 test questions, with an allotted time of 1-1/2 hours to complete. In countries where English is not the native language, candidates for whom English is not their first language will be granted a 30-minute extension to the allotted examination completion time.
