Target Audience
- This course is intended for students who wants to dive into the Google Workspaces and integration of Gemini into Google Workspaces environment.

Module 1: The Foundation – Gemini in Your Workspace
- Gemini: Overview of the Gemini side panel, “Help me write” buttons, and other entry points in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail.
- Core Prompting for Workspace: Adapting prompts to get structured output (tables, lists, outlines) suitable for specific apps.
- Hands-on Lab 1 (Drive & Docs): Use the Gemini side panel to (1) Suggest a logical folder structure for a new project in Google Drive, and (2) Summarize a long Google Doc without leaving the window.
Module 2: Content & Communication Accelerated
- Google Docs Power-Up: From blank page to finished report. Brainstorming, outlining, drafting, and changing the tone of content with “Help me write.”
- Gmail Mastery: Drafting professional replies, summarizing long email chains, and turning brief notes into formal announcements.
- Google Slides Creation: Generating a presentation outline from a Google Doc, writing compelling speaker notes for each slide, and creating descriptive prompts for AI image generation.
- Hands-on Lab 2 (Docs → Slides): Participants will use Gemini in a Google Doc to outline a project proposal. Then, they will use that outline to generate a 5-slide presentation structure directly in Google Slides.
Module 3: Data, Planning, & Organization Hub
- Google Sheets as a Database: Using Gemini to create project trackers, marketing content calendars, and budget templates. Generating formulas from natural language descriptions (e.g., “Write a formula to sum column B if column A says ‘Complete'”).
- Planning with Calendar & Tasks: Drafting detailed event descriptions and agendas for Google Calendar. Breaking down a project goal into a step-by-step checklist to be copied into Google Tasks.
- Video & Content Strategy: Using Gemini to brainstorm a YouTube video series, write a script in Docs, and create a production checklist in Sheets.
- Hands-on Lab 3 (Sheets & Calendar): Participants will ask Gemini to create a project launch plan in a table format. They will paste this into Google Sheets and then use Gemini to write a detailed meeting agenda for the “Project Kickoff” milestone to put in Google Calendar
Module 4: Workflow Automation with Code & Best Practices
- Introduction to Google Apps Script: Explaining what Apps Script is (the “glue” for Workspace).
- Generating Simple Automations: Prompting Gemini to write code. Example prompts: “Write a Google Apps Script that creates a Google Doc from a new row in a Sheet.” or “Write a script to create a calendar event for every task in my Google Task list with a due date.”
- Responsible AI in Workspace: Data privacy considerations when using Gemini with proprietary company data. The importance of verifying AI-generated code, formulas, and facts before executing or sharing.
- Hands-on Lab 4 (Code): Participants will attempt to generate a simple, functional Apps Script to solve a common problem (e.g., “Draft an email when a status in a Sheet changes to ‘Done'”).
Wrap-Up & Workspace Action Plan
- Review of key integrations and workflows.
- Open Q&A session.
- Participants create a personal action plan: “What is the first integrated workflow I will try to build in my Google Workspace?”
