As a part of Microsoft’s commitment to ensure that their portfolio remains up to date, they have reviewed and renamed, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate to Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate to reflect their current vision on the data analyst job role and the skills that are required for that role today. It also stipulates the direction that will be taken to include additional skills in the future.  

Likewise, in the new Exam PL-300: Power BI Data Analyst, one is required to earn the Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification. The exam is mainly focused on skills in preparing, modelling, visualizing and analyzing data to maximize the value for an organization.

• If you’ve just started preparing for Exam DA-100, consider reviewing the skills requirements for the new Exam PL-300 and switching your focus to the new exam because the exams are very similar.  However, between February 28 and March 31, 2022, learners can pass either exam to earn their Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification.
